Make a simple honey garlic sauce by whisking together 1/3 cup soy sauce, 3/4 cups water, 4 tablespoons honey, 2 teaspoons ginger and 4 minced garlic cloves. The sauce can then be poured over chicken wings during cooking. If you want a thick sauce that resembles a dip, mix together 1/2 cup honey, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 tablespoons vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon ginger and 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder. Place the sauce in a pan, add 1 tablespoon cornstarch and stir the mixture together. Heat until the sauce thickens.
Another great honey garlic sauce is used on ribs as an alternative to traditional barbecue sauce. Add 2 cups chicken broth, 1/2 cup honey, 1/4 cup soy sauce and 1/2 cup brown sugar to a saucepan. Season with 1 teaspoon diced ginger and 6 crushed garlic cloves. Bring the ingredients to a boil before reducing heat the mixture to a simmer for five minutes.
