Mix butter and sugar until the texture is creamy, and add eggs and vanilla to the mix. Combine baking powder, flour and salt in a separate bowl. Add the butter mixture and stir in milk, and then place the mixture into a cupcake tin and bake.
Start by preheating the oven to 350 F. While the oven is preheating, mix one-half cup of butter and three-fourths or one cup of sugar into a bowl. Mix the butter and sugar into a bowl until they are creamy. Add two eggs and beat after each egg is added. Mix in two teaspoons of vanilla extract and stir.
Next, mix one to one-half cups of flour, one-half teaspoon of baking soda and one-fourth teaspoon of salt into a separate bowl. Add the butter mix and two-thirds of a cup of milk. Stir the ingredients until they have a consistency that is thick and smooth.
Place the batter into a cupcake tin once all of the ingredients are mixed. It should take between 18 to 24 minutes for the cupcakes to bake. Check the cupcakes periodically with a toothpick by puncturing the surface of the cake. If the toothpick comes back clean, the cupcakes should be fully baked. Remove the cupcakes from the oven and let them sit for several minutes before serving.
