To prepare a homemade cappuccino, use an espresso machine to prepare espresso and warm and froth the milk. Pour the warmed milk over the prepared espresso and top with the remaining foam. Mix with sugar, if desired.
Cappuccinos are essentially espresso mixed with milk and topped with milk froth. They can be served hot or cold, depending on preference.

- 1 cup espresso
- 1 1/2 cups cold milk
- Prepare the espresso
- Warm and froth the milk
- Prepare the cups
Use a bean grinder to freshly grind espresso coffee beans. Place 1 tablespoon of the ground beans into the espresso machine's portafilter and lightly tamp the grounds. Then extract a double shot of espresso and collect the prepared espresso in a cup. Repeat, as necessary, until 1 cup of espresso is prepared.
Warm and froth the milk using the espresso machine's steam attachment. The foam should remain on the top while the warmed milk remains on the bottom.
Divide the prepared espresso into two coffee cups. Then divide and pour the warmed milk over the espresso, without pouring out the foam. Use a spoon to top the espresso and milk mixture with the remaining foam. Dust the top with the cinnamon and serve.
