Duncan Hines offers a recipe for devil's food cake cookies. The basic recipe requires devil's food cake mix, eggs and vegetable oil, but can be expanded to include mix-in ingredients as desired. This recipe is designed to use Duncan Hines' brand of cake mix, and the ingredient proportions may not be as accurate with other brands of devil's food cake mix.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. While the oven is heating, add one box of Duncan Hines devil's food cake mix, two eggs and 1/2 cup of vegetable oil to a mixing bowl. Add mix-in ingredients as desired; Duncan Hines suggests adding walnuts, coconut or chocolate chips to the cookies.
Stir all ingredients together until well blended. Roll the cookie dough into walnut-sized balls, and place them on an ungreased cookie sheet. Ensure each cookie is space 2 inches apart from the others. Bake the cookies for eight to 10 minutes, and then remove them from the oven and allow them to cool for two minutes on the cookie sheet. After two minutes have passed, transfer the cookies to a wire rack to complete cooling.
This recipe makes two to three dozen cookies, depending on the size of each cookie. Duncan Hines recommends using the cookies within a few days to ensure that they remain moist and chewy.
