One well-reviewed recipe for creamy garlic prawns calls for butter, olive oil, crushed garlic cloves, flour and chicken stock. The recipe also requires white wine, heavy cream, dry mustard powder, prawns and fresh flat-leaf parsley.
First, heat 25 grams of butter, 1 tablespoon of oil and 2 crushed cloves of garlic in a frying pan on medium-high heat until the butter melts. Add 1 tablespoon of flour, and cook the mixture while stirring for one minute, or until it begins to bubble. Next, add 1 cup of chicken stock to the mix, slowly pouring in a quarter cup at a time. Keep stirring the mixture throughout to keep lumps from forming. Add 2 tablespoons of white wine and 1/2 cup of cream.
Heat the mixture, stirring for three minutes, or until the sauce boils and thickens. Add in 2 teaspoons of mustard, and season with salt and pepper. Finally, add in 750 grams of uncooked, peeled prawns, and let them simmer, stirring for three minutes, or until the prawns have cooked through. Stir in 1 tablespoon of coarsely chopped parsley, and the creamy garlic prawns are ready to be served. The recipe recommends serving the prawns over some steamed rice.
