About.com features a recipe for country style baked ribs that uses 1 1/2 to 2 pounds of country style pork ribs. A dry rub seasoning includes 3 teaspoons Cajun seasoning, 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder and1/2 teaspoon onion powder. Also included are 1 sliced onion and 1/2 cup barbecue sauce.
Wash pork ribs in water, and pat dry with paper towels. In a bowl, combine dry rub ingredients, and cover ribs with seasoning. Place ribs into a foil-lined baking pan. Layer the onion slices on top of the ribs, and cover the ribs with a long piece of aluminum foil. Bake one hour and 15 minutes at 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
Remove foil and brush ribs with barbecue sauce. Continue baking ribs, uncovered, for another 15 minutes.
Prepare savory oven beef ribs by mixing 1 cup beef broth, 1/2 cup dry red wine, 1 can tomato sauce, 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme and 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram in a glass baking dish. Coat 2 pounds beef country style ribs in a mixture of 3 tablespoons flour, 1 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper, and whisk 1 tablespoon excess flour mixture into the sauce. Brown both sides of ribs in 1 tablespoon olive oil, and transfer to baking dish. Chop 6 medium carrots, 2 celery stalks, 1 large onion and 2 garlic cloves, cook in 1 tablespoon olive oil for 3 minutes, and add to sauce. Cover and bake until tender.
