Pretzel cookies combine crushed pretzels with sweet ingredients such as chocolate chips and vanilla. The saltiness of the pretzels complements the sweetness of the cookies.

Ready in: 44 minutes
- 3/4 cup butter
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoons baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 12-ounce packages of semisweet chocolate chips
- 2 cups pretzel sticks, crushed
- Prepare the oven and the baking sheet
- Combine the moist ingredients
- Combine the dry ingredients
- Make the dough
- Add the chocolate chips and pretzels
- Bake the cookies
Turn on the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
In a medium bowl, cream the butter and sugars together with an electric mixer. Beat in the eggs and vanilla to form a smooth mixture.
In a small bowl, mix the flour, baking soda and salt together.
Slowly add the flour mixture to the butter and sugar mixture. Beat until dough forms.
Coarsely crush the pretzels. Use the mixer to carefully beat the chocolate chips and crushed pretzels into the dough.
Drop the dough onto the prepared cookie sheet with a tablespoon. Bake for 10 to 14 minutes. Baking the cookies for a shorter period of time creates chewy cookies, while baking them longer produces crisp cookies.
