To make cheddar biscuits like Red Lobster's, combine flour, baking powder and garlic salt with cold butter, shredded cheddar and buttermilk to create a thick batter. Drop the batter in mounds onto a lined baking sheet, and bake until golden brown, then brush them with a garlic and herb butter.
To create the cheddar biscuit batter, whisk together 2 cups of flour with 2 teaspoons of baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt. Using an electric mixer set to medium-low, add in 6 tablespoons of cold butter, cut into 1-inch cubes. Add the butter one piece at a time, mixing until the mixture looks crumbly. Fold in 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, and mix with the electric mixer for one minute. Finally, mix in 3/4 cup of buttermilk, just until all the liquid is fully absorbed.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Combine 3 tablespoons of melted butter with 1/2 teaspoon of parsley flakes and 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt in a bowl, and set aside. Using an ice cream scoop, drop the batter in mounds onto the baking sheet, about 2 inches apart. Bake in the oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown. Brush the biscuits with the garlic and herb butter as soon as they come out the oven, and serve hot.
