Carrabba's Signature Italian Sangria comes in three flavors: red, blackberry and peach. The red and the blackberry flavors both use a customized Terra Mare Montepulciano red wine as a base, and the peach flavor uses white wine to start.
To make the blackberry sangria at home, mix together a sweet red wine or a bisanzio Italian wine with cranberry juice, Monin blackberry syrup, Tuaca Italian liqueur and fresh blackberries. Let all of the ingredients mix together for a few hours, so the flavor of the fruit infuses with the wine. Top off with a splash of Sprite and serve with ice and slices of lemon and orange.
For the red sangria, use the same wine and mix with Monin red sangria mix, brandy, orange juice and cinnamon, serving it with the same garnishes and preparation as the blackberry recipe. The peach recipe specific to Carrabba's is not available online, but standard recipes start with white table wine, brandy, triple sec and orange juice. Pur?ed peaches, pineapple juice, simple syrup and fresh fruit finish off the summery drink.
Recently, Carrabba's launched a sparkling line of sangria as well, swapping the splash of Sprite for Bocelli Prosecco. Pair these with boldly flavored dishes, such as the Cozze in Bianco, which has a topping of lemon butter sauce that combines well with the drinks.
