Pillsbury's easy cake mix cobbler calls for a boxed yellow cake mix, 2 21-ounce cans of cherry, apple, blueberry or peach pie filling, 1/2 cup melted butter, 1/2 cup coarsely chopped pecans, and 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon.
Preheat oven to 375 F and spray a 9-by13-inch pan with nonstick spray. Spread the pie filling in the pan. Mix the cake mix with the melted butter, pecans, and ground cinnamon until crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over pie filling. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until lightly browned. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, if desired.
Another recipe of cake mix cobbler calls for frozen fruit of your choice and Sprite or another lemon-lime soda in place of the pie filling. To make it, preheat the oven to 350 F and grease a 9-by-13-inch pan. Spread 24 ounces of frozen fruit evenly in the pan. Sprinkle a dry yellow cake mix on top, then pour 18 ounces of soda over the cake mix. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until nicely browned.
A third recipe uses 2 melted sticks of butter mixed with an 18-ounce yellow cake mix. Combine in a thick batter. Pour two 16-ounce cans of fruit pie filling in a square baking dish and pour the batter on top. Bake at 425 F for 25 minutes.
