A recipe for broccoli with Velveeta cheese sauce requires only five ingredients: Velveeta cheese, milk, onions, garlic and cooked broccoli. To prepare, microwave all of the ingredients other than broccoli, stir and pour over the hot broccoli.
This recipe makes 10 1/2-cup servings and takes approximately 15 minutes to prepare and another 15 minutes to cook, including the broccoli cooking time. It requires 8 ounces of Velveeta cheese cut into 1/2-inch cubes, 1/4 cup milk, 1/4 cup finely chopped onions, 1 clove of minced garlic and 5 cups of hot cooked broccoli. As the broccoli is cooking, add the remaining ingredients to a microwave safe bowl, then microwave until the cheese is completely melted, which takes about three minutes. The mixture should be checked and stirred at one minute intervals. Once the cheese is melted, stir the sauce, pour over the cooked broccoli, and serve immediately.
Cook the broccoli by steaming or grilling it. Pan-steamed broccoli takes about six minutes using 1/3 cup of water in a saucepan. Cook the broccoli in the water for three minutes over high heat while covered and an additional three minutes uncovered on low heat. Add salt and other spices to the water if desired. Partially steam and marinate broccoli for 30 minutes before cooking on a grill for about four minutes.
