To make baked foil potatoes, cut 4 potatoes in half lengthwise; top the cut side of each potato half with 1/2 tablespoon of butter, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Wrap the potatoes in foil, and bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 40 minutes.
Sprinkle the potatoes with dried rosemary and thyme for an herbed foil potato. Adding Parmesan cheese creates a cheesy variation. To prepare these potatoes on a grill, use heavy-duty foil, or double wrap the potatoes. Cook them over medium heat for about 20 minutes on each side. Serve with melted butter and seasoned salt or fresh garlic.
