Some quick slow cooker recipes include spaghetti Bolognese, Hawaiian chicken over rice, smokey turkey and sweet potato chili and French dip sandwiches. Slow cookers make preparing meals quick and easy because all that is needed is to add the ingredients and let the cooker do most of the work.
To make spaghetti Bolognese, add 1 lb. beef chuck, finely chopped carrots, whole peeled tomatoes, celery, garlic, onion, tomato paste, oregano, thyme, dry red or white wine, bay leaf, salt and ground black pepper to the slow cooker. Cover and cook for 7 to 8 hours on low or 4 to 5 hours on high, until the meat is cooked and the vegetables are tender. Cook the spaghetti about 20 minutes before the sauce is ready. Toss and serve together with Parmesan cheese.
Make Hawaiian chicken by placing 4 chicken breasts in the slow cooker with barbecue sauce, teriyaki sauce, pineapple and water. Cook on high for about 3 hours or low for 5 to 6 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and able to be shredded. Cook the rice and shred the chicken. Serve rice with the chicken mixture on top.
Other quick slow cooker recipes include meatball sliders with tomato sauce, Italian pot roast, sausage and bean stew, green tomato chili verde and chicken lettuce cups.
