Sun-Maid Raisins are produced by Sun-Maid Growers of California, a privately owned American cooperative of raisin growers, as of December 2015. The company was founded in 1912 and is headquartered in Kingsburg, California.
Sun-Maid Growers of California is the world's largest dried fruit processor, working with about 850 million farmers and harvesting over 200 million pounds of raisins yearly. The raisins are grown in the Central Valley of California. Sun-Maid mainly harvests Thompson Seedless grapes but also uses Fiesta, Zante and Flame varieties. In addition to grapes, the company also produces other dried fruit, such as cranberries, figs, dates, apples and prunes.
