Coke was introduced in 1886 and since then, has come to be recognized by 94 percent of the world's population. It was the first soft drink to go to outer space on the Space Shuttle Challenger.

Pepsi was invented in 1898 under the name "Brad's Drink." It achieved great success when its name became Pepsi and its marketing is always aimed at the younger generation, while Coke targets just about everyone with its advertising.

Coke introduced Diet Coke in 1983 and was aimed at women and older people. Today, this soda is Coke's biggest seller behind Coke Classic.

When Coke first came out, it sold for 5 cents per glass. Coke began as a thick syrup added to carbonated water. Today, Coca-Cola sells more than 1.9 billion servings of Coke every day.
