Two crock pot recipes for ham are slow cooker ham and slow cooked ham in cider gravy. Both of these recipes are easy to make and require four or fewer ingredients.
Slow cooker ham requires only two ingredients: 2 cups of packed brown sugar and one 8-pound cured ham with the bone. An individual should place 1 1/2 cup of brown sugar at the bottom of the crock pot, and then place the ham on top of it, flat side down. It is possible that a person may need to trim the ham in order to make it fit, depending on the size of the cooker. The remaining brown sugar should be rubbed onto the ham, and then the cook should turn the crock pot on low for eight hours.
Slow cooked ham in cider gravy requires one 1- to 4-pound ham, 2 cups of unsweetened apple cider, 3/4 cups of maple syrup and 3 tablespoons of cornstarch. The cook should place the ham, cider and syrup in the crock pot and cook it for six to eight hours on low. The cook can then remove the ham and transfer the liquid to a cup. The individual should then add the cornstarch to 1/2 cup of the liquid in a pot, stirring over low heat. The heat should slowly be increased to medium-low. The rest of the liquid should be added until it turns into a thick gravy, and then served with the ham.
