Oolong tea is partially fermented tea produced from the stems, buds and leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. Oolong tea is a traditional Chinese tea with many varieties and flavors.
Camellia sinensis is also used to make completely fermented black tea and unfermented green tea. Some varieties of oolong tea include Darjeeling oolong, Thai oolong, Vietnamese oolong, Dahongpao and Assam oolong tea.
Oolong tea is prepared by steeping about 2 teaspoons of tea in a cup of 200 to 205 degrees Fahrenheit of water for 3 to 10 minutes. Oolong tea can be steeped three to five times, and rebrewing it enhances its taste unlike other teas.
