In the United States, one shot consists of 1.25 to 1.50 fluid ounces of liquor. However, shot glasses are manufactured in a number of different sizes based on their country of origin.
Aside from Utah, where the shot is officially recognized as 1.5 fluid ounces, the United States does not have an official shot size. Due to this, standard shot glasses in the United States typically hold 1.25 to 1.50 fluid ounces of liquor. Additionally, manufacturers produce double and triple shot glasses that hold anywhere from 2.5 to 4.5 ounces of liquor. In the rest of the world, one single shot glass can range from as small as 20 milliliters in Denmark to as large as 60 milliliters in South Korea.
