Martinis, margaritas, daiquiris and vodka Collins cocktails are mixed drinks that are sometimes made with kiwis. For the martini, begin by muddling one-half of a skinned kiwi with 1/2 teaspoon simple syrup in a cocktail shaker. Add 3 ounces of plain or citrus vodka and ice.
Shake the liquid well and strain it into a chilled martini glass. Garnished with a slice of kiwi. To make two kiwi daiquiris, put one pared and sliced kiwi, 2 to 3 teaspoons of sugar, 1 tablespoon lime juice, 1 to 2 ounces of rum and eight crushed ice cubes into a blender. Add one drop of green food coloring if desired. Blend until the liquid is smooth. Pour it into stemmed glasses that are garnished with kiwi slices. Omit the rum for a nonalcoholic version.
For two kiwi margaritas, put 1 1/2 peeled and sliced kiwis, 1/2 ounce melon liquor, one splash each of Triple Sec and lime juice, 1 ounce of tequila and eight crushed ice cubes into a blender. After the mixture is fully blended, tip it into two kiwi-garnished pieces of stemware.
Make a kiwi Collins by scooping out the pulp from one-half of a kiwi. Place it into a cocktail shaker and muddle it. Add two shots of vodka, 1/2 shot of sugar syrup, and 1 1/2 shots of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Shake with ice, then strain into an ice-filled Collins glass. Add a splash of soda water and garnish with kiwi.
