Broccoli with Garlic Butter Sauce, Edamame and 3 Cheese Shells with Bacon are microwave steamer recipes. For the broccoli dish, put 2 tablespoons of water, 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 teaspoon of minced garlic on the bottom of the steamer.
Add three cups of broccoli florets. Season with salt and pepper. Close the steamer and open its vent. Cook for four minutes in a 950-watt oven. Put the broccoli in a serving dish and pour butter sauce over the top.
To steam edamame, put one-quarter cup of water and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce in the bottom of the steamer. Place 10 ounces of frozen edamame on top and sprinkle with kosher salt. Close the steamer and open its vent. Steam for five minutes. Put the edamame on a dish and top with the soy sauce.
For the cheesy shells, put 6 cups of cooked shell noodles, 4 slices of crumbled bacon and 4 ounces each of sharp white cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses into the steamer. Add one-half cup of shredded Parmesan cheese, two-thirds cup of heavy cream, one-quarter teaspoon of dried mustard, one-half teaspoon of salt and one-quarter teaspoon of pepper. Stir all ingredients.
Close the steamer and open its vent. Cook for five minutes. Stir before serving.
