How Do You Marinate a Turkey?

To marinate a turkey, completely thaw the turkey, and remove the giblets and neck. Place the turkey into a large plastic cooking bag, and add the preferred seasonings. Refrigerate the turkey in the bag for several hours or overnight to allow the marinade to soak into the turkey.

To make the Jennie-O turkey marinade, in a small bowl, whisk together 3/4 cup of dry red wine, 1/3 cup of orange juice, 3 tablespoons of olive oil, 3 chopped shallots, 4 peeled and minced garlic cloves, 2 tablespoons of minced fresh rosemary and 1 1/2 tablespoons of minced fresh oregano.
