To marinate a turkey, completely thaw the turkey, and remove the giblets and neck. Place the turkey into a large plastic cooking bag, and add the preferred seasonings. Refrigerate the turkey in the bag for several hours or overnight to allow the marinade to soak into the turkey.

To create this marinade, combine 3/4 cup of Coca Cola, 1/2 cup of bourbon, 1/3 cup of lemon juice, 1/3 cup of soy sauce, 1/4 cup of chopped green onions, 1 tablespoon of fresh minced garlic and 1/4 teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes. Pour the mixture over the turkey, seal, and refrigerate for six to eight hours prior to cooking.
