Wheatgrass juice is an excellent source of fiber, vitamins and minerals. You can make your own wheatgrass juice using wheatgrass you purchase or grow yourself. You need a juicer and water. Fresh wheatgrass juice goes bad quickly, so drink it within 30 minutes of making it.
Buy wheatgrass at a health food store, or grow your own. If you grow your own, harvest it when the sprouts are approximately 8 inches tall by cutting each sprout just above the soil line. Choose the freshest sprouts to make the best-tasting juice. Make sure that there is no mold growing on any of the sprouts before you juice them, and don't use yellow sprouts in your juice, as they have a negative affect on the flavor.
Juice the wheatgrass
For best results, juice wheatgrass with a juicer. Using a blender or food processor diminishes some of the juice's health benefits. You can also make the juice by hand with a mortar and pestle. Chop and grind the leaves, gradually adding water while grinding to make a paste.
Strain the juice
Strain the juice through cheesecloth or muslin until the leaves become white. Drink immediately as wheatgrass juice goes bad quickly.
