Full Answer

  1. Gather your materials

Collect a glue gun and glue sticks or a roll of clear tape. Also secure four 16-inch lengths of 3/8-inch-wide red or green ribbon, 12 packages of chewing gum, 12 packages of 1 1/2-ounce raisins, 40 round peppermint candies, four rolls of ring-shaped hard candies, four foil-wrapped Hershey's Kisses brand milk chocolates and other assorted foil-wrapped candies.

  2. Construct the train cars

Apply glue or clear tape to the ribbon. Place one gum package wide-side up at one end of the ribbon, and then proceed to attach one raisin package followed by the second gum package. Put the second raisin package at the other end of the ribbon spacing the cars approximately 1/2-inch apart. Make the wheels by gluing two peppermint candies to each side of the first gum package, and attach one peppermint candy to each side of the raisin packages and the other gum package. Bypass the first gum package, and glue assorted foil-wrapped candies to the tops of the other three cars.

  3. Build the engine

Attach one roll of ring-shaped candies to the first gun package. Place one foil-wrapped milk chocolate candy at the front of the roll to create the chimney, and place a second milk chocolate candy at the other end to make the cab. Repeat the process to make three additional trains.
