Brown 1 pound of ground beef in a skillet, breaking up into crumbles along the way. Add one packet of taco seasoning, and stir to coat the beef. In a large serving bowl, add 1 chopped head of iceberg lettuce, 1 diced tomato and about 4 ounces of cheddar cheese. Add the beef, 4 ounces of broken Nacho Cheese Doritos and 1 cup of Catalina or French dressing. Toss to coat all the ingredients, and serve. If the dish is not to be served immediately after it has been prepared, wait to add the Doritos and salad dressing until just before serving. This recipe makes seven 2-cup servings.
Reviewers on EmilyBites.com gave this recipe positive reviews. Some said they prefer to use Italian or Ranch dressing, while another suggests using ground turkey in place of the ground beef. One reviewer said that she adds olives, green peppers and onions to the recipe, and another mentioned that Salsa Verde flavor Doritos also work well in this dish. Plain Doritos can also be substituted for a more subtle flavor.Learn more about Cooking
