Make basic sweet bread rolls by simmering milk, sugar, butter and yeast. Add the yeast mixture to a large bowl containing the rest of the dough ingredients, and then knead the dough on a floured surface. Let the dough rise, covered, for one hour, and then bake.
Start by combining 1 cup of milk, 1/3 cup of white sugar and 1/3 cup of butter in a saucepan and heating it lightly. Then, add 1 tablespoon of dry yeast, and let the mixture sit until it turns foamy. Next, mix 4 cups of flour and 1/2 teaspoon of salt in a large bowl. Add in two eggs, 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil and the yeast mixture.
Stir until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl, and then knead the dough on a floured surface until it is smooth and elastic. Grease another large bowl with 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil, and place the dough in the bowl, turning it once to coat it in oil. Cover the bowl, and place it in a warm place for one hour or until the dough doubles in size.
Grease a baking pan, and separate the dough into rolls. Let the dough rise for another 20 minutes, and then bake it at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 to 25 minutes.
