To make salmon dip, combine cream cheese, sour cream lemon juice, dill and horseradish with minced smoked salmon. Serve the salmon dip with vegetable crudites, such as endive, sliced bell peppers or cucumbers, and crackers.
Start by creaming 8 ounces of cream cheese at room temperature in an electric mixer with a paddle attachment or in a metal bowl with a paddle spoon until smooth. Mix in 1/2 cup of sour cream, 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice, 1 tablespoon of minced fresh dill, 1 teaspoon of drained prepared horseradish along with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Add 4 ounces of minced smoked salmon to the cheese mixture, and mix well until smooth. Chill in a refrigerator before serving.
Another recipe calls for you to combine 1/4 cup of mayonnaise, 4 ounces of cream cheese, a tablespoon of rinsed and drained capers, a tablespoon of diced red onion, a teaspoon of fresh lemon juice, 1/2 teaspoon of horseradish and 2 ounces of smoked salmon in a food processor, and blend the ingredients until smooth. Stir in another 2 ounces of coarsely-chopped sliced smoked salmon, and top with a tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley.
Common serving accompaniments include raw or lightly steamed vegetable crudites and crackers or bagel chips.
