Kraft Recipes offers a recipe for ranch dressing dip that uses its own bottled ranch dressing, while The Pioneer Woman provides a recipe made from scratch with ingredients such as buttermilk and garlic. Preparation time for the Kraft recipe is 10 minutes, and The Pioneer Woman's recipe takes two hours.
For the Kraft recipe, mix 1/2 cup of sour cream, 1/2 cup of Kraft classic ranch dressing and 1/4 cup of mayonnaise. Add 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese, 1/4 cup of bacon bits and 1 sliced green onion. Refrigerate the dip for several hours or until it is chilled. Serve with a variety of cut-up vegetables, breadsticks or crackers. This recipe makes 12 2-tablespoon servings.
For The Pioneer Woman's recipe, mince 1 or 2 cloves of garlic, and sprinkle them with 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Mash these two ingredients into a paste with a fork. Chop 1/4 cup of parsley and enough chives to fill 2 tablespoons. Add these to the garlic. If desired, add dill, cayenne, paprika and oregano to taste.
In a bowl, combine the previous ingredients with 1 cup of mayonnaise, 1/2 cup of sour cream and enough buttermilk to reach your desired consistency. Optionally, add white vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco sauce to taste. Chill the mixture for a couple hours before serving. If desired, thin the ranch with milk or buttermilk to your liking.
