Make quinoa burgers by using the all-quinoa recipe provided by Epicurious, or a black bean and quinoa recipe such as those provided by All Recipes and Vegetarian Times. The All Recipes and Epicurious recipes use eggs to keep the quinoa in burger patty form.
To form boiled quinoa and eggs into burger-shaped patties, combine the two ingredients in a medium bowl with salt. Stir in onion, cheese, chives, garlic and bread crumbs before stirring the mixture for a few minutes. Add more eggs to make the mixture more resilient, or add a small bit of water to moisten it. Once the patties are properly shaped, fry them in a heavy skillet over medium-low heat for 7 to 10 minutes.
When mixing quinoa with black beans, first boil the quinoa and let it simmer for 20 minutes. Cook a mixture of black beans, onions and sun-dried tomatoes in a non-stick skillet. After letting the bean-onion mixture simmer for about 10 minutes, add all of the ingredients, including the cooked quinoa, to a food processor and blend them until the resulting mixture has a smooth consistency and texture. Alternatively, mash the bean mixture using a fork to make a paste, and then add the quinoa along with bread crumbs and egg.
