Punch is traditionally made by mixing fruit juices with alcohol, although fruit punch can be made very easily without alcohol by combining fruit juices, such as pineapple and orange, together with ice. Frozen fruit can also be used to keep the drink cool and add extra flavor.
Punch is quick and easy to make, and is a great drink for parties. To make a refreshing fruity punch, with or without alcohol, use the following as a guide.
- Mix the fruit juices
- Make a syrup
- Frozen fruit
Lemonade, orange juice and pineapple juice combine to make a good flavor, so mix 2 cans of orange juice and lemonade together with 1 can of pineapple juice. The lemonade can be frozen to add extra coolness to the punch.
Take 3 cups of water and heat with 3 cups of sugar. Make sure the water is boiling, and that all the sugar is dissolved before removing from the heat. Let the mixture cool, then add it to the juice mixture and stir well.
Take any fruit of your choice — strawberries or raspberries will work well — and place them into a ring mold, pouring a little juice over each one. Freeze the fruit then, when the punch is ready to serve, add the fruit to the juice mixture along with some fizzy soda, such as lemon-lime or lemonade.
For an alcoholic version of this punch, simply add a preferred liquor — rum works well — along with the soda.
