Rub a pork roast with a package of dry onion soup mix, and place into the slow cooker. Pour 1 can of cranberry sauce over the pork roast, cover, and cook on low for 10 hours or until the roast is tender. Remove the roast from the slow cooker, reserving the sauce. Whisk together 2 tablespoons of melted butter and 2 tablespoons of flour, add the mixture to the sauce, and whisk again until thickened. Serve with the roast.
To make another slow cooker recipe, sprinkle a pork roast with salt and pepper, and brown it on all sides in a hot skillet. Peel and slice 3 apples. Cut 16 slits in the pork roast, and insert a slice of apple into each slit. Place half of the remaining apple slices into the slow cooker.
Add the pork roast to the slow cooker, and pour 1/4 cup of honey on top. Cover the roast with the remaining apples and 1 red onion, thinly sliced. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of cinnamon on top of the onion. Cover the slow cooker, and cook for six to eight hours on low.
After cooking, place the roast, apples and onions on a serving platter, and transfer the liquid to a saucepan. Bring the juices to a boil, and cook until the liquid reduces by half. Serve the sauce with the roast.
