Make a Pillsbury apple pie by filling a Pillsbury pie crust with apple-cinnamon filling and baking until golden brown. Necessary ingredients include Pillsbury refrigerated pie crusts, apples, sugar, all-purpose flour, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, salt and lemon juice.
Start by preheating an oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Place one Pillsbury pie crust into a dry 9-inch glass pie dish. Press the pie crust into the dish along the sides and bottom. Make the filling by mixing together 6 cups of peeled and thinly sliced apples with 3/4 cup of sugar, 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour, 3/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, 1/8 teaspoon of ground nutmeg and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice in a large bowl. Scoop the filling into the pie plate, and spread evenly throughout the crust.
Lay the second pie crust on top, and wrap the excess under the edges of the bottom crust. Press the edges together to seal the pie crusts and create a fluted rim shape. Make several even cuts in the top crust to allow steam to release during baking.
Place the pie into the preheated oven, and bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until the apples soften and the crust turns golden brown. After about 15 to 20 minutes of baking, protect the edges of the pie crust from excess browning by covering them with 3-inch strips of aluminum foil. Allow the pie to cool for at least two hours before serving.
