Crisco has a quick and easy-to-follow peach pie recipe that uses canned peaches for the filling. Combined with pre-made pie crust, this recipe is a simple way to make a delicious peach pie.
To make Crisco's peach pie, preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Using a 10-inch pie plate, roll out pre-made pie dough for bottom crust. Drain 1 can yellow peaches in heavy syrup, making sure to save 3 tablespoons of the liquid. Cut peaches into chucks, and place into a large bowl. Combine 3 tablespoons cornstarch and 3 tablespoons sugar in a bowl, and add the 3 tablespoons peach syrup, 13 tablespoons sugar, 3 large eggs and 1/3 cup buttermilk. Mix thoroughly. Stir in 1/2 cup melted butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Pour the mixture over peaches, and stir until thoroughly coated. Pour the filling into the unbaked pie crust. Roll out dough for the top crust, and crimp edges according to the pie crust box. Cut slits into top crust to vent steam. Brush the top of the crust with 2 tablespoons melted butter, and sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until the filling is bubbling and crust is golden brown.
