To make a Philadelphia Cheesecake, combine 1 ½ cups cracker crumbs, 1/3 cup melted butter and 3 tablespoons sugar to make the crust, before pouring a mixture of sugar, softened cream cheese, eggs and vanilla over the crust. Bake the cake for 55 minutes.
Begin by preheating the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. In a bowl, combine 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs, 1/3 cup melted butter or margarine and 3 tablespoons sugar. Grease a 9-inch spring-foam pan with butter or margarine, and press the mixture onto the bottom to create the crust.
Next, in a separate bowl, beat 4 packets of softened Philadelphia Cream Cheese, 1 tablespoon of vanilla and 1 cup of sugar with a mixer until well blended. With the mixer on low speed, mix 4 eggs, adding one at a time and ensuring that the mixture is well blended before adding each egg. Pour the mixture over the crust.
Place the cake in the oven, and bake for 55 minutes or until it is almost set in the center. Once baked, loosen the pan’s rim, and allow the cake to cool before taking out the rim. Place the cake in the refrigerator for four hours. Top it with fresh fruit just before serving to add flavor.
