To make lemonade from lemon juice concentrate, add sweetener, water, fresh lemon juice, fresh thyme and slices of lemons to the concentrate. Serve the mixture over ice.
- Gather the ingredients
You need 1 cup of lemon juice concentrate, 7 cups of water, 1/2 cup of fresh-squeezed lemon juice, and 1 3/4 cups of sugar for the lemonade as well as fresh lemon slices and thyme for garnish. If you prefer, use a sugar-free sweetener in place of the sugar.
- Squeeze the lemons
For 1/2 cup of fresh lemon juice, squeeze approximately three heavy lemons. Get the most juice from each one by rolling it hard against the counter. Cut it in half, and squeeze it in a juicer.
- Mix the ingredients in a large pitcher
Mix the lemon juice concentrate, fresh lemon juice and the sugar in a pitcher, and stir the mixture until the sugar dissolves. Add the water, and mix thoroughly.
- Adjust the amount of sugar
Taste the lemonade. Add more sweetener if it is too tart for your taste. If it is too sweet, add a small amount of lemon juice. Add water for a less intense lemon flavor.
- Slice up a fresh lemon
Wash a fresh lemon to remove any waxy coating. Slice it into thin slices. Drop the slices into the pitcher of lemonade.
- Wash fresh thyme leaves
Wash a few fresh thyme leaves. Crush them slightly for more thyme flavor, but keep them whole for less. Put the thyme leaves into the lemonade, and stir.
- Serve the mixture over ice
Pour the lemonade into a glass with ice cubes. Garnish the glass with fresh lemon and a sprig of fresh thyme.
