Hershey offers a simple Hershey bar pie recipe. The only ingredients required are one 6-ounce Hershey bar, one packaged pie crust and one frozen 8-ounce tub of non-dairy whipped topping.
To make the pie, place 1 6-ounce Hershey bar in a bowl, and melt it in the microwave for one minute or until the chocolate is smooth. Once the chocolate is the correct consistency, fold the frozen whipped topping into the melted chocolate. Spoon the chocolate and whipped topping mixture into your pie crust, cover it, refrigerate it for 6 hours or until firm, and garnish as you wish.
There are many variations of the Hershey bar pie. A recipe from Food.com, for instance, calls for you to heat 16 large marshmallows and 1/2 cup of milk over a double boiler until melted as an alternative to the whipped topping. This recipe also suggests using a Hershey bar with almonds instead of a plain Hershey bar and a graham cracker crust to give the pie the taste of s'mores.
Experiment with the toppings of the Hershey bar pie. Toppings that work well include chocolate candies, nuts, cookie crumbles and cookie dough. Maraschino cherries or coconut also can be used to top the pie.
