- Heat up some water, corn syrup and sugar
- Test the temperature
- Add colors and flavors
- Pour the mixture onto a baking sheet
- Let the candy cool
- Break the candy into pieces
- Sprinkle the candy with powdered sugar
Mix 3 parts white sugar with 1 part corn syrup and add 3/8 cups of water for every cup of sugar in the mixture. Continually stir the mixture over medium heat until it starts to boil.
Use a candy thermometer to test the temperature. Remove the mixture from the heat when it reaches 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
Add a few drops of food coloring and flavoring oil to the hot mixture and stir.
Pour the hot liquid onto a greased baking sheet. Candy molds can also work well.
Leave the mixture to cool completely.
Break the hardened candy into pieces.
Sprinkle the pieces with powdered sugar or toss sugar and the pieces in a bag.
