To make Martha Stewart's mango and yogurt smoothie, combine 2 1/2 cups frozen mango chunks, 1 1/2 cups low-fat, plain yogurt, 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1 tablespoon honey and the juice of half a lime in a blender. Blend until smooth. Top with 1/4 cup chopped almonds or walnuts if desired.
Alternatively, make a mango-banana smoothie by combining 1 banana, 1/2 cup frozen mango slices, 1/3 cup plain yogurt and 1/2 cup orange-mango juice blend in a blender. Blend until nearly smooth. This recipe makes two cups of smoothie and takes just five minutes to prepare.
To make a creamy mango smoothie with fresh mango, combine 3/4 cup cold milk, 1/4 cup vanilla yogurt, 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1 1/2 cups chopped, fresh mango and 3 ice cubes in a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy. This recipe makes two servings.
Another great smoothie recipe is Ann Burrell's mango, strawberry and pineapple smoothie. To make this drink, remove the skin from one mango, cut it into 1-inch slices, and freeze the slices. Once the slices are frozen, place them in a blender with 5 frozen, de-stemmed strawberries, 1 cup diced pineapple and 1 cup orange juice. Blend for two to three minutes, and drink immediately.
