To prepare a fresh cranberry JELL-O salad, combine two 3-ounce packages of cranberry gelatin and one half-ounce package of unflavored gelatin into a glass-mixing bowl. Pour 1 cup of water over the mixture and stir it for two minutes. Add a 15-ounce can of cranberry sauce and refrigerate the mix.
Alternatively, make a cranberry-pineapple salad by draining a 20-ounce can of pineapple in juice. Set the drained pineapple juice aside and add 2 cups of cold water to it. Pour the pineapple juice and water into a saucepan and bring it to a boil. In a glass bowl, combine the pineapple juice and two 3-ounce packages of JELL-O strawberry flavored gelatin. Stir the mixture for two to three minutes. Pour a 16-ounce can of cranberry sauce, and stir for another two to three minutes. Refrigerate for one and a half hours or until the gelatin is slightly thickened. Stir in the remaining pineapple, a chopped pear, and two-thirds of chopped walnuts. Refrigerate for four hours or until firm.
For a slightly different flavor, prepare the salad using a JELL-O cranberry flavored gelatin or any other red JELL-O gelatin. To add a garnish, slice an additional pear and decorate the salad before serving it.
