Homemade pie is a filling and tasty dessert, but traditional pie crusts involve a lot of prep work. An easy, but flaky pie crust is possible with the right recipe.

- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 2/3 cup vegetable oil
- 6 tablespoons cold water
Step 1: Whisk together all of the dry ingredients in one bowl.
Step 2: Whisk together the liquid ingredients in a separate bowl.
Step 3: Pour the liquid mixture over the dry mixture. Stir together with a fork until the dough is mixed well. It should be moist and forming loose balls of dough.
Step 4: Dump the 2/3 of the dough into a 9-inch pie pan. Flatten the mixture into the bottom of the pan until it is relatively smooth and completely covers the bottom of the pan. Use a fork to crimp the edges of the crust to the pan. The remaining 1/3 of the dough can be crumbled on top of the pie filling before putting it in the oven.
