To make custard pie with Bisquick, combine Bisquick mix with milk, sugar, eggs, butter and vanilla until fully blended. Pour the mixture into a greased pie plate, and bake for 50 to 55 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. The pie should be golden brown when ready.
For a standard custard pie, mix 2 cups milk, 1/2 cup Bisquick, 3/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup softened butter, 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and 4 eggs in a bowl until fully blended. Grease a 9-inch pie pan with cooking spray, and pour the mixture into the pan. Bake until the pie is golden brown and a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean.
You can make different types of Bisquick custard pies by adding additional ingredients. To make a caramel custard pie, add 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar to the standard recipe. Add 1 cup coconut flakes for coconut custard pie. To make a berry custard pie, gently fold in about 1 to 1 1/2 cups of raspberries, blueberries or blackberries. Other variations include adding a small amount of grated ginger, lemon, lime or orange zest.
Bisquick custard pies are extremely easy to make because you don't have to prepare a separate crust. During the baking process, the Bisquick settles to the bottom as the pie cooks, creating its own crust.
