Wellness Mama shares a recipe for chicken broth that requires placing chicken bones in a large, water-filled pot with vegetables and spices and letting it simmer. The website explains that broth helps boost the immune system, aids in digestion and improves brain health.
To make a bone broth, place the chicken bones in a large pot filled with water. Pour vinegar, and let it sit for about 20 to 30 minutes. Add 1 onion, 2 large carrots and 2 celery stalks. Then season with salt, pepper, spices and herbs. Bring to a boil, and simmer for 24 hours.
Remove the frothy impurities on the water surface during the last few hours of simmering. Discard these impurities. In the last 30 minutes, add the garlic and parsley. Remove from heat, and strain the bones and the vegetables. Wellness Mama says the broth can be stored for up to five days.
