A standard beef dip recipe calls for mixing Carl Buddig beef with cream cheese, cream of mushroom soup and green onions. Variations on this dip call for adding ingredients such as mayonnaise, sour cream or picante sauce.
To make the basic Buddig beef dip, chop the tops and bottoms of 4 green onions. Cut the contents of 3 packages of Carl Buddig thinly sliced beef into small squares. Pour 1 can of cream of mushroom soup into a bowl, and blend in 2 packages of softened cream cheese. Add the onions and beef, and mix well. Chill overnight to allow the flavors to mingle. Serve with crackers, chips or vegetables.
One variation of the recipe calls for adding 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise and a pinch of pepper to the basic recipe. Another recipe calls for omitting one of the packages of cream cheese and replacing it with 3/4 cup of sour cream. This recipe also adds 1/3 cup chopped bell pepper, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce and 1/2 cup chopped walnuts to the basic dip. These are simply incorporated at the same time as the meat and green onions.
Chopped Carl Buddig beef can also be used in a cheesy Mexican dip. For this recipe, cut 1 package of cheese spread into cubes, and mix it with 1/2 cup picante sauce, 1 can chopped mild chilies and the beef. Heat until the cheese melts and the ingredients are blended.
