Make baked beans with bacon by combining baked beans, crumbled bacon, onion, brown sugar and ketchup in a slow cooker. Season the mixture with Dijon mustard, cider vinegar and Worcestershire sauce. You can also add fresh herbs such as parsley before serving.
Pour 3 cans of drained baked beans, 2/3 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 cup of ketchup, 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard and 1 tablespoon of cider vinegar into a slow cooker. Mix in 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce, 1 chopped sweet onion and 8 slices of crispy, crumbled bacon. Cover, and cook for four hours on the lowest setting.
Baked beans can also be made in the oven. In a skillet, fry 3 slices of chopped bacon for a few minutes over medium heat, and add 1 chopped medium onion. While the onion cooks for another three minutes, pour 6 cups of baked beans into a casserole dish. Sprinkle the bacon and onion mixture on top of the beans, followed by 1/4 cup of brown sugar and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Bake everything for 10 minutes or until the beans are warmed through. Spread 2 tablespoons of freshly chopped parsley leaves over the beans, and then serve.
