Purchase a pre-cooked pizza base, pizza sauce, mozzarella or fontina cheese, tinned Spanish anchovies or fresh, white anchovies, parsley and lemon juice. Other optional toppings include capers, olives, softened onions, garlic and artichokes. Olive oil and seasonings such as salt, pepper and red chili flakes are also used to make a scrumptious anchovy pizza.
Stir together olive oil, the juice of 1/2 lemon and a tablespoon of finely-chopped parsley in a bowl to make a marinade. Insert 4 ounces of anchovies into the marinade for at least 15 minutes to allow the juices to soak in.
Spread the pizza sauce on the base, and sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top. Spread the marinated anchovy fillets onto the pizza. Top it with any other condiments you desire. Sprinkle sea salt and crushed black pepper over the pizza.
Pre-heat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and bake the pizza for 5 minutes or until the cheese melts. If you want a crispier crust, leave the pizza in the oven for two additional minutes.
