Turkey that is thawed in a refrigerator can be kept in the fridge for 1 to 2 days after it's thawed. Turkey that is thawed by the cold-water method or microwave should be cooked immediately and not stored in a refrigerator after thawing.
Turkey can be thawed safely in a refrigerator for 1 to 3 days for 4 to 12 lbs., 3 to 4 days for 12 to 16 lbs., 4 to 5 days for 16 to 20 lbs. and 5 to 6 days for 20 to 24 lbs. The turkey can be refrozen immediately after thawing in the fridge, but it will suffer some loss of quality.
