Cooking times for a turkey in a 350 F oven can range from 10 to 15 minutes per pound for a fresh bird and 20 minutes a pound for a thawed one. Add five minutes per pound for a stuffed turkey.
Times for cooking a turkey are variable so the best way of being certain a turkey is done is by using a thermometer. Insert the thermometer in the thickest part of the thigh; be sure not to touch bone. When the thermometer reads 180 F the turkey is finished. Also take the temperature of the stuffing if the bird is stuffed. Place the thermometer in the middle of the stuffing and when the temperature reaches 165 F it is fully cooked.
