Ribs can be parboiled for about 1 hour. Place the ribs in a large stock pot, and cover them with water and seasoning. Bring the water to a boil, then let the ribs simmer.
After removing the ribs from the pot, place them in foil, and dress them with sauce. Close the foil, and bake them in the oven for 2 hours. This process makes the meat tender and intensifies the flavor. Ribs can be flavored with barbecue sauce and seasoned with garlic, chili powder, onion, salt and pepper.
