Cook pre-soaked pinto beans for four to six minutes in the pressure cooker. Cook beans that have not been soaked for between 22 and 25 minutes. Soaked beans are ones that have been placed in a pot of cool water for at least six hours prior to cooking.
Use 4 cups of water and a tablespoon of oil for every cup of beans cooked in the pressure cooker. The pressure cooker can also be used in lieu of pre-soaking beans for inclusion in other recipes. Cook the beans for one minute, and then quickly release the pressure and drain the water from the cooker.
