Before filling a Jell-O mold, spray the inside with a thin layer of cooking spray, and loosen the cooled Jell-O from the mold by dipping the bottom in warm water for about 15 seconds. Jell-O Jigglers are pieces of Jell-O molded into various shapes.
Jell-O Jigglers are sweet desserts and snacks made from gelatin and sugar. Mixing them up is a relatively easy process, when following the package instructions. However, the Jell-O is sometimes difficult to remove from the mold intact. Make sure that those holiday molds always come out looking their best with these simple steps.
- Spray the empty molds
- Mix the Jell-O
- Cool the Jell-O and soften it with warm water
Pre-spray the empty Jell-O molds inside with a cooking oil. The spray is light enough that it won't make the gelatin oily on top, but helps keep the dessert from sticking to the mold.
When mixing up the Jell-O, consider using about 25 percent less water than is required in the package instructions. This creates a thicker, firmer gelatin that withstands removal from the mold better.
After the Jell-O has cooled in the refrigerator, place the bottom of the mold in warm water. Fill up a tray or just fill up the kitchen sink with a few inches of warm tap water. Let the tray sit in the warm water for about 15 seconds. This should soften the outside of the gelatin enough that it is easy to pop out of the mold.
