Some ingredients needed to make Special K bars include light corn syrup, sugar, peanut butter and Special K cereal. Make the topping for Special K bars from chocolate chips, butterscotch chips and butter. Make Special K cereal with either crunchy or smooth peanut butter.
Make Special K bars by melting together 1 cup of light corn syrup with 1 cup of sugar in a large pan. Turn the heat source off, add in 1 cup of peanut butter, and stir until the ingredients are completely mixed together. Gently stir in 7 cups of Special K cereal.
Lightly grease a 9 x 13 inch pan and pour in the cereal mixture. Press down gently on the cereal mixture with lightly greased hands or wax paper to prevent the cereal mixture from sticking. Mix together 1 cup of chocolate chips, 1 cup of butterscotch chips and 1/2 cup of butter in a microwave-safe bowl, and microwave until the chocolate is completely melted. Mix together until the chocolate chips, butterscotch chips and butter are smooth, and then spread over the cereal bars.
Place the Special K bars in the refrigerator just long enough to allow them to cool, then remove from the refrigerator and cut into bars.
